Overview

Gogiya Korean Barbecue Restaurant 고기야 필리핀, nestled in Pasig, Metro Manila, offers an authentic Korean dining experience that stands out amidst the bustling cityscape. Known for its hearty and true-to-tradition Korean barbecue fare, this restaurant impresses with a menu that captures the essence of Korean home-style cooking while delivering the vibrant flavors that Korean cuisine is famous for.

The main attraction here is undoubtedly the Korean barbecue, featuring succulent cuts like pork belly and the rich Beef Woo Somgyopsal, which bring a smoky depth when grilled tableside. Beyond the grill, Gogiya serves up noteworthy specialties such as Kimchi Jjigae, a comforting kimchi stew that is both spicy and tangy, and the 염소수육 (boiled goat meat), which offers a unique taste rarely found in Manila’s Korean scene. For those seeking something more communal, the 염소전골 (goat hot pot) is a hearty, flavorful hotpot perfect for sharing, combining a savory broth with tender goat meat and vegetables.

Seafood lovers are also well-catered for with dishes like the seafood pancake, crunchy and dotted generously with fresh seafood, and the osambulgogi, which bursts with marinated flavors. Pairing your meal with traditional Korean drinks such as Soju Jinroizbaek or refreshing SM Beer Light adds to the authentic atmosphere and complements the robust flavors beautifully.

The space itself is described as clean and welcoming, with a warm ambiance favored by both locals and Koreans residing in Manila, hinting at the genuine nature of its offerings. While the interior might feel a bit snug at times, the attentive and efficient service, coupled with the owner’s kind hospitality, ensures a pleasant dining experience. The blend of friendliness and a bustling yet cozy environment makes it a great spot for Korean food enthusiasts and casual diners alike.

Despite some initial difficulty in locating the place—partly due to the signage naming it Sodonchon instead of Gogiya—the restaurant’s quality quickly becomes apparent. Their generous portions and reasonable pricing, particularly on set meals, make it a valuable find for anyone seeking authentic Korean flavors without venturing far from the heart of Metro Manila.

Gogiya Korean Barbecue’s appeal lies not only in its menu but also in its cultural authenticity, reinforced by the consistent patronage of Korean customers who serve as an informal seal of approval. Whether you are craving the fiery comforts of kimchi stew, the communal joy of a goat hot pot, or the interactive pleasure of grilling pork belly by your table, this Pasig restaurant delivers a satisfying and genuine Korean barbecue experience that resonates with both tradition and warm hospitality.

The place is called Sodonchon, but the menu says Gogiya. We couldn't find it at first since we were looking for a restaurant named Gogiya. We had to ask around before someone pointed out that it's called Sodonchon. They are open from 11 AM to 10 PM and accept credit cards. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, especially for their set meals. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the service is fast. However, the place can be a little stuffy. I highly recommend their pajeon, osambulgogi, and kimchi jjigae, which also come with rice. They are tasty and flavorful.

The place is very easy to find even though it's in the backside of CW compound. The place looks likes those from the korean dramas. The food is great especially the chicken spring. Also there are a lot of sidedish to choose from. The staff are friendly and knows the menu very well. I will definitely go back here.
